Pet hair
Bamboo viscose sateen has a smooth, tightly woven surface. Hair and dander tend to sit on top rather than weaving in, so a shake or a damp glove removes most of it. Cotton percale is smooth too but slightly more textured; hair grips a little more. Microfibre is polyester, holds static, and attracts hair like a magnet. It is the hardest of the three to keep clean with a pet.
Temperature
Bamboo viscose is breathable and feels cool to the touch, which suits warm sleepers and warm pets. Cotton breathes well but feels warmer at higher thread counts. Microfibre traps heat.
Claws and durability
Cotton percale is the most forgiving of claws. Bamboo viscose sateen is soft and can snag if a cat kneads it with extended claws; keep claws trimmed and put a throw where the cat settles. Microfibre pills and snags with wear.
Washing
All three wash at home. Bamboo viscose prefers cold water and low heat to keep its drape; cotton tolerates hotter washes; microfibre dries fastest but sheds microplastics. Shake bedding before washing to keep hair out of the machine.
Cost per year
Microfibre is cheapest upfront and replaced most often. Cotton and bamboo viscose cost more and last longer with correct care. If pet hair is your main problem, the smooth bamboo weave saves more time per week than the price difference suggests.
